Admission of new undergraduate students at Universitas Hasanuddin, as a state university, refers to the provisions of the Indonesian government. The admission process is held with the following principles;
a) Fair, namely not discriminating against religion, ethnicity, race, gender, age, social position, physical condition, and level of economic ability of prospective students, while still taking into account the potential and academic achievements of prospective students and the specificity of the Study Program at the PTN concerned;
b) Accountable, which is carried out in accordance with clear procedures and criteria;
c) Flexible, namely the implementation of TPS is held several times and each prospective student can take more than one test;
d) Efficient, namely administering PTN entrance tests using information and communication technology, involving human resources, and time flexibility; and
e) Transparent, namely the implementation of new PTN admissions is carried out openly and the results of the implementation can be accessed easily.
The selection process is carried out at the national and university levels through five admission systems. The student admission system at Universitas Hasanuddin is organized by Student Admission Centre. The admission path for new undergraduate students at PTN is carried out through:
a) National Selection to Enter PTN (SNMPTN) which is carried out based on the results of tracking academic achievements and/or portfolios of prospective students. Applicants are high school graduates or the equivalent who graduated in the same year as the year of admission. The selection process is carried out by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia nationally. The registration process includes two stages, namely a). the school recommends the best students on the website of https://pdss.ltmpt.ac.id, and qualified candidates register through the website of https://snmptn.ltmpt.ac.id
b) Joint Selection for PTN Entrance (SBMPTN) is carried out based on the results of the Computer-Based Written Examination and other criteria agreed by the PTN. the applicant is a high school graduate maximum of the last 3 years. The selection process is carried out by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia nationally.
c) Higher Education affirmation scholarship program (ADIK)is one of the efforts of the government of the republic of Indonesia to increase access and learning opportunities that have good academic potential but have limited access to education. One of the conditions is that they come from the Papua Province and West Papua Province, the frontier, outermost, underdeveloped areas, as well as the children of Indonesian workers from the border areas. d) Non-Subsidized Pathway (JNS). Non-Subsidized Pathway Student Admission (PM-JNS) is one of the independent selection pathways organized by Hasanuddin University to recruit prospective students who have academic achievements in addition to financial ability. Applicants are required to be registered as SBMPTN participants in the same year of admission to one of the study programs at Universitas Hasanuddin. (http://regpmb.unhas.ac.id)
e) The Sports, Arts, and Scientific Achievement Track (POSK) is one of the independent selection pathways organized by Hasanuddin University to recruit prospective students who have academic/sports/arts/scientific achievements. Applicants are required to be registered as SBMPTN participants in the same year of admission to one of the study programs at Universitas Hasanuddin.; (http://regpmb.unhas.ac.id)
In addition, the quota for the capacity of each Study Program provided for prospective new students participating in the SNMPTN is set at least 20% (twenty percent), and the SBMPTN is set at least 40% (forty percent) of the capacity of the Study Program concerned. Meanwhile, the quota for each Study Program provided for prospective new students who take part in the independent selection (university level) is set at a maximum of 30% (thirty percent) of the capacity of the Study Program concerned.
The students must register for the course every semester. Hasanuddin University uses a single tuition fee with five (5) groups of students depending on their economic level.
